Funny Phrases Galore

There have been way more funny stories than picture opps lately, so I'll share some of the most recent. See if they give you any laughing matter...They may be boring to an outsider, but remember that this is journal for me since I can't seem to keep a more conventional baby book with various milestones, etc. Apologies in advance!

Tonight when we came home from the park, Theo pointed to a man walking down the street and yelled at the top of his lungs, "O-BAMA!" Clearly Theo was over-generalizing, but to him, that tall African American man WAS Obama! He continued with Obama-08, Obama-08 for some time once we were home.

This morning Daddy was holding Theo while making funny slurping noises (training starts early, I know!) when drinking his coffee. Daddy put his coffee cup down and Theo insisted, "Daddy drink coffee AGAIN!". The spontaneity in his verbalizing/thought process is pretty funny these days.

A couple nights ago we were on the bed reading books and playing on the pillows prior to bed time when Theo decided to lay his head on my "buns of steel" (yeah, right!)...he then proceeds to say, "PILLOW" (referring to my butt)- and laugh- then says cozy paints off mama! I see where he's coming from. I suppose MY butt in cozy pants could certainly be mistaken for a pillow. I can cope and deal with that insult/comment! They'll only get worse as they get older!

On our trip in Delaware, Theo was big on the phrase, "Look Mama, Look..." He repeated this phrase who knows how many times over the course of a 30 minute traffic jam and went something like..."Look Mama, Look...Shakin' Baby Johnny's Hand!" I thought the look mama look thing was endearing...until it came around the 100th time!

This one happened about 1 1/2 - 2 months ago at the height of his motorcycle obsession! We made our way to Portillo's for dinner one evening over the weekend. We got our incredibly deliciously unhealthy food and were just chit-chatting. A lull in the conversation came across the table only to be resolved by Theo. He looked at us and said very matter of factly..."Black motorcycle outside, TOO!" There we had our next conversation starter, and he was so excited to have something to bring to the table in the form of conversation. Some variations on his motorcycle discussions, now, a few months later..."Black one cycle all gone, "orange motorcycle not here", "not today, maybe tomorrow", "maybe later", ETC, ETC, ETC!!! He says and locates the parts of the motorcycle including, handlebars, pedals, seat, lights, wheels, tires, gas. Still gets enjoyment out of looking and seeing motorcycles, mopeds, and scooters. The city is full of them! To date he's sate on 2 Harley's and 1 moped. Pretty cool for a little boy.

That's PLENTY for now, I know. This is a really great age and want to remember all the little stories for another time in the future. Thanks for staying tuned re: A Day in the Life of Theo.
